In business, it's a big advantage to be versatile. The only thing better than being useful is being useful for different things. A sign can be very useful for businesses, but a sign with a message that can be quickly and easily changed to suit different needs on the fly, that's even more valuable.
Our sign shop has produced countless changeable signs for a wide variety of businesses of all sizes. People all over the U.S. have been using this type of low profile business signage because it works best for them, and they will work for you too.

What's In A Sign?
Most signs used in businesses have lettering and graphics that are a permanent part of the sign. Numbers, letters, and other characters are painted on, affixed with adhesive, snapped into place, engraved or even molded right into the surface.
This is normally a very effective method of sign making, and most signs are permanent fixtures both indoors and outdoors. Most of the time, permanent signs serve their purpose well.
But there are some places and situations in need of signs that can be changed easily. If permanent signs are used, it's more difficult to remove and replace them. Signs can be mounted with screws or bonded to walls with epoxy. These signs can become time consuming and costly to replace, especially if there is a need to change them more than once.
The best alternative would be to use a changeable sign that is made to display different messages as needed. This sign would also need to be able to be changed without uninstalling the entire sign, saving you time and money.
How Do Changeable Signs Work?

Changeable signs, memo holders and office signs are constructed from flat panels of sturdy acrylic. The outer side of the lens has a very fine frost in the surface to reduce glare from office lighting. A 1/16" thick clear lens (see image above - 1a) is bonded to a 1/8" thick back-plate (1b). The plastic sheets are bonded with strips of a strong adhesive foam tape that leaves a gap between the panels. Lettering is applied to a thin plastic insert, and this is then slipped into a slot on one side of the sign (2).
The front panel is a backpainted lens with a window space allowing the insert and it's lettering to show through. The sign acts as a one-piece message display with no doors or moving parts, which means they can be changed easily without taking up more room than the sign would normally use.
Whenever a new message is needed, another insert is lettered with that text. The first insert is slipped out of the sign by nudging the insert through a small slot in the side (usually the left side for consistancy). A small tool can be used, or a small thin piece of cardboard, large paper clip, heavy paper or other small thin object found in office environments.

A paperclip is used to push through a small slot on one side
of the sign, nudging the insert out the other side for easy removal and changing.
The inserts are not held in place under any kind of pressure and all that is required is a slight push to reveal the end of the insert at the right edge of the sign. The insert can then be grasped and pulled out of the slot. The new insert slides right into place.
Just like that, you have a new sign. No uninstalling, no disgarding of old signage, no money spent on new signage. It's a design that ingenius in it's simplicity, and they look great too.
If you're looking for a simple and cost effective solution to office sign needs, a changeable sign is right for you.
