The acrylic is then subsurface painted with color borders(A), and the faceplate is permanently bonded to an acrylic back plate(B). Clear windows in the faceplate(C) are shaped to fit thin styrene inserts, leaving thin open slot on the right side for the inserts to slide into(D). The result is an attractive directory displaying text which can be easily changed in minutes.

Another benefit to the Slenderline directory is it's ultra-thin design. The entire sign is only one quarter of an inch thick, which means it's never an obstruction. Low-profile directories can be mounted to any wall, even in a busy hallway, without taking up the space that so many thicker plastic or metal directories do.
